Animal Friends of the Valleys - Lake Elsinore Shelter

29001 Bastron Street
Lake Elsinore, CA 92531
951-674-0618
Rabbits on this page are located at the Lake Elsinore Shelter, or in foster care for Animal Friends of the Valley.  Rabbit care and adoption is provided with the help of volunteers from Lucky Bunny Rabbit Rescue, a satellite of San Diego House Rabbit Society. (join our group!)

To learn more about any rabbit on this page, please contact info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com

It is HIGHLY recommended that you house your new rabbit indoors. Rabbits are prey animals and the Inland Valley is home to many predator animals such as hawks, owls, coyotes, raccoons, foxes and bob cats, all of which kill small animals left outside (even rabbits kept in a cage or hutch). Wet or hot weather (over 80 degrees)  and parasites such as fleas, flies, and mosquitoes also can be deadly to rabbits. You can easily house your rabbit indoors and make him a part of your family.  He will live a much longer and healthier life, and you will enjoy him so much more.  Learn more about housing your bunny indoors. Little Elvis
Male - Neutered - 6 months old - Standard Mix
INTAKE#: 2687

Little Elvis would like to live in a new home that won't be a Heartbreak Hotel, where his new family will shower him with love and kindness.

As Elvis Presley sang in Don't Be Cruel, Little Elvis wants to "forget the past, (and  hopes) the future looks bright ahead."

What is Little Elvis' bio? He was abandoned, in a box, on a local dog rescuer's front porch.

Suspicious Minds can only guess that Little Elvis was unwanted because his rear left foot may have been broken at some point. The good news: Despite what looks like an old injury, Little Elvis can still dance, and our rabbit-savvy veterinarian will make sure he will always be able to shake his bunny pelvis.

Can you love Little Elvis tender, love him sweet, and never let him go? If so, email info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com for a private concert with our little star.

Fisher
Male - Neutered - 10 months old - Standard Mix
INTAKE#: 25847

This darling bunny boy was named after LA Lakers player, Derek Fisher. Fish may not be an NBA champion (he IS a little short, afterall), but he is the champion of his foster family's heart. They report that Fisher has "beyond perfect" litterbox  habits, is extremely social, and genuinely loves other animals. Fisher will play and snuggle with his foster family's 10-week old kitten and even loves their big, friendly dogs.

Fisher lives in a roomy x-pen and enjoys running around the house. He can be found doing the "Bundy 500" around different pieces of furniture before he breaks into a series of joyful happy dances.

Fisher did not have a happy start in life. He and another boy bunny were raised in a tiny cage that was so small they couldn't even turn around. Their previous owners hoped to breed the two bunnies (they didn't realize they had two boys) so they could sell baby rabbits online (how sad!). When Fisher came into the shelter he was filthy and the victim of severe neglect. Fish is currently flourishing in foster care and we hope he finds a loving "forever home" soon. To meet Fisher contact info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com

Tinkerbelle
Female - Spayed - 5 months old
Ready for adoption on/around August 18, 2010
INTAKE#: 44584

Tinkerbelle is a blue-eyed, beautiful mini-lop. With that icy glare, it's easy to see why she was recently featured on www.disapprovingrabbits.com! Despite the chilly stare, Tinkerbelle will warm her way into your heart with her funny antics and sweet, loving personality.

She was surrendered to the shelter by her previous owner who lost his home and could no longer care for Tinkerbelle. During a recent hot spell, Tinkerbelle had to live outside and nearly suffered heat stroke on one 100+ degree day. Fortunately, she is safe and looking forward to meeting her Forever

Contact info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com to arrange a date with Miss Tinkerbelle.

Sammy and Annabelle
Bonded pair - Male and Female - Spayed and neutered - 18 and 16 months old
INTAKE#s: 74034 and 74857

What a lovely pitcher
 picture this loving couple makes!

Sammy is a friendly, lovable black rabbit. He was a macho, bachelor bun who has settled into domestic bliss with Miss Annabelle, a lovely Hotot girl (white with one dark ring around her right eye).

Sammy would like to think that he 'wears the pants' in this relationship, but Annabelle definitely has the upper paw.

And she is the first girl who has been able to keep Sam's substantial ego in check.

They both enjoy typical married couple activities: eating, playing, sunbathing, and doing wild dances in the grass for no particular reason.

Sammy and Annabelle also take great care of each other. They snuggle and always make sure they are well-groomed. They are a very sweet couple.

Both bunnies crave petting. This happy couple would do well with a family where they got LOTS of attention. For more information contact
info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com

Ringo
Male - 8 months old
Ready for adoption around 8/15/10
INTAKE#: 77312

Ringo is a handsome, 8-month old boy with magnificent blue eyes. He will be neutered and available for adoption after 08/07/10.

He is a very loving and playful boy, and would make a wonderful companion for a family with gentle children over the age of 8, or in an adult home. He might also enjoy being bonded with a spayed girl bunny. Ringo and Tinkerbelle would make a striking couple!

To learn more about Ringo contact info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com

Snowball and Carmel
Bonded pair - Male and Female - Spayed and neutered - 16 months old
INTAKE#s: 39479 and 24192

Snowball is a Florida White mix and Carmel is a Dutch mix. They are a happy couple and madly in love. They snuggle together, kiss each other, and do happy dances outside in a large pen during supervised playtime.

They have been in foster care for about 9 months and hope to find a loving home of their own soon where they will get the love and attention they need and deserve.

Snowball (aka "Snowbee") enjoys falling asleep on laps for hours while being petted. He is the most affectionate rabbit we've ever met. Carmel enjoys affection and petting, too. She is an active girl who enjoys jumping and dancing. They are hilarious, fun to watch rabbits.

Both bunnies enthusiastically play with their toys and zoom up and down the ramps of their
Cottontail Cottage. Snowball and Carmel would be wonderful additions for a family or an adult home. They get along wonderfully with children over 8 years of age.

Snowball and Carmel are active and must be housed in an

Daisy Jane
Female - Spayed - 12 months old
Intake#: 29567

This adorable lop girl was a stray that had been on her own wandering around Wildomar for a while.

When Daisy was found she was covered in ticks (we removed over 45 ticks from her!), dehydrated, and skinny. We're still not sure how she survived the recent triple digit temperatures, ticks, and lack of food and water. Clearly, this beautiful girl is a survivor.

Daisy is currently recovering from her spay surgery and will be ready for adoption on/around August 12th.

Can you find room in your heart for this special girl, and give her a home where she will be loved and spoiled?

Henry the 9th
Male - Neutered - 10 months old
INTAKE#: 25789

Like Henry the 8th, our Henry Bun lives life with gusto! He loves to eat, drink, and be merry. He also loves to explore; he's very inquisitive and curious.

As far as we know this Henry hasn’t beheaded any wives (like Henry the VIII), but he DOES seem to like the ladies, so it’s a good thing he has been neutered. We don’t need any heirs to his throne.

Henry met Daisy Jane when he was in foster care and they liked each other a lot. He would be fine as a single rabbit, but probably even happier with a friend like Daisy.

Henry would be perfect for a first-time rabbit family (with children over 8 years old). He enjoys being held and petted, and has very tidy litter box habits.

Henry also adores cats and small, well-behaved dogs.

Henry is a resceud rabbit available for adoption at the Temecula PETCO, 40474 Winchester Rd., Temecula, CA.  (951) 296-0388

Rini and Catrina
Female - Spayed - 10 months old
INTAKE#s: 41537 & 41542

These loving, playful sisters would be happiest in an active home where they would get plenty of love and attention from family members.

The girls currently live in an x-pen where they can stretch out and zip arouin their
Cottontail Cottage.

Like her brother Radar, Rini also has adorable "helicopter ears" that flop around when she runs and plays. Rini and Catrina are in foster care. For information about them, contact info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com

Bunjamin and Maya
Bonded pair - Male/Female - 7 months old
Intake Nos. 41681 & 41545

This brother-sister bonded pair are a "10" on the "Sweet and Lovable" scale. They have been in foster care since January when they were babies left at the shelter with their mom, Rosie. Their foster family has showered Bunji and Maya with lots of love and affection; they are used to be held, handled, kissed, and hugged and will need to live with people who will provide them with lots of love. They are so easy to love, so that should be a very easy task!

Maya and Bunji are bonded must be adopted together. Why are two buns better than one? Read this to find out!

These bunnies are used to living in an x-pen, which gives them room to move around and do their bunny dances. They must be housed indoors. If you can handle extreme sweetness and affection, contact info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com to meet this adorable, bonded pair.

Sweet Georgia
Female - Spayed - 14 months old
Intake#: 28346

Sweet Georgia is, well, sweet! She will make a wonderful companion for someone who would like a loyal, friendly, loving, and quiet bunny.

Georgia has IMPECCABLE litter box habits and loves affection. She also enjoys exploring her foster family's house. She would make a fabulous roommate or beloved family member. To schedule a date with Miss Georgia contact info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com

Cupcake
Female - Spayed - 2 years old
Intake#: 26088

This charming Dwarf Silver Marten girl who was recently turned into the shelter. She was an Easter bunny that the children lost interest in and, as a result, was left in a small cage in an upstairs bedroom where she received little attention. We were told that "most of the time the kids forgot to give her food and water."

Despite this, Cupcake is a sweet girl who likes to snuggle with her foster dad. Her foster family reports that she is happiest living in an x-pen where she can zoom around and play with her special toys. She is slowly getting used to eating yummy hay and fresh veggies, and seems to be enjoy

Cupcake would be very happy in a home where she would be smack in the middle of things, getting attention, and feeling loved.

Can you give this precious little girl a second chance at love?

Sasha
Female - Spayed - 12 months old

Intake#: 44386

This sweet, petite, 12-month old lavender-gray and white Dutch girl is soft, affectionate and very friendly.
Sasha enjoys playing with her toys and being petted - especially gentle ear rubs! Sasha is fun to watch - especially when she does happy bunny dances around her pen.
Sasha is an active girl and will be happiest in an x-pen setup. For more information about Sasha contact tamara@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.

Rosie
Female - Spayed - 14 months old
Intake#: 41544

This pretty, standard mix girl has big, soft brown eyes. Rosie is a very gentle girl who enjoys being petted.

Rosie came from a sad situation; she was turned into the shelter by an inexperienced breeder with 19 of her "kids" after the breeder became overwhelmed. Rosie lived in a crude, outdoor conditions, where she was forced to have litter after litter so that her babies could be sold on Craig's List for $10 each. Happily, Miss Rosie has been spayed and her breeding days are over.

Rosie has thrived as a house rabbit. She has excellent litter box habits and is a very "easy keeper."  She loves eating fresh hay and veggies every day and when she's happy she "popcorns" and dances around her pen. She would be happy as a single girl, but might also enjoy the company of a "hus-bun" at some point, too. Rosie must live in an x-pen setup. For more information contact info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com

Juno
Female - Spayed - 12 months
Intake#: 76286

Juno is a big, beautiful New Zealand girl. Her foster dad describes Juno as, "A magnificent, gentle girl who loves to be held, petted, and runs out each morning to greet you while yearning to be picked up, hugged and kissed."

Juno is also VERY mellow and laid-back. Her favorite hobbies include eating, snuggling on laps, watching TV, and occasionally running around to taunt other bunnies at

The New Zealand White breed is often described as the "golden retriever dog" of the rabbit world, so if you're looking for a golden retriever that does not bark, does not need to be walked, with perfect litter box habits, please arrange a time to meet Juno.

Juno is spayed and must live in an x-pen setting. For more information about Juno contact tamara@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com

Harper Lee and Scout
Bonded pair (Male-Female) - Spayed/Neutered - 6 months old
Intake #s: 28901 and 28905

Double vision! This brother-sister, bonded pair was born on January 17, 2010 to their mom, Rosie (also available for adoption).

Like their older brother and sister, Maya and Bunjamin, Harper Lee and Scout love to be petted, held, and are very sweet and affectionate.

Don't let those "disapproving" faces fool you. These two bunnies will warm your heart. They hope to find a loving, forever home soon where they will be treated like the prince and princess that they are. Contact
info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com for more information.

Mimi
Female - Spayed - 18 months
Intake# 42026

This pretty, English Spot girl was turned into the shelter by someone who was housing her in a very small cage and fed her Mimi too many pellets. For the last 3 months, Mimi has been on a healthy diet and runs around every day for a few hours chasing her foster mom's small, friendly dog.

Mimi is gentle, sweet, quiet, is fascinated by other bunnies, likes cats, and people. She has great litterbox habits and happily munches on her fresh hay and veggies every day. She is also an expert beggar when it comes to treats.

Mimi is happiest when she can watch TV while sitting in someone's lap (HGTV and TV shows about brides are her favorites), getting pets and love.

Mimi needs to live in an x-pen, and she adores her Cottontail Cottage. C

Sophie Suzanne
Female - Spayed - 10 months old
Intake#: 75692

Sophie Suzanne is a pretty, petite, girl who was rescued after being abandoned in an open field filled with dangerous predators. We consider her to be "special needs" because she has a mild gastro-intestinal (GI) condition similar to Irritable Bowel Sydrome (IBS) in humans.

Fortunately, Sophie's condition is very easy to manage. Each day she eats a very small quantity of salad, a small amount of pellets, water, and lots of fresh, yummy hay.

When Sophie arrived at the shelter she was emaciated, malnourished and very dirty. However, with tender loving care she has blossomed into a spunky, sweet, and funny bunny girl who enjoys playing with cats and meeting other bunnies.

Sophie is a WONDERFUL rabbit who will benefit from a loving home where she can be loved and treasured.  For more information contact tamara@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com

Female - Spayed - 12 months old
Intake#: 75026

Tuesday is an independent spirit who absolutely melts when her ears are gently rubbed - she literally goes into a "trance"!

This confident dwarf girl also has gorgeous blue-gray eyes. Despite the fact that Tuesday enjoys cuddling with her “baby” (a stuffed toy) she does not seem interested in meeting any boy bunnies. We think she will be happiest as a single girl, in
an adult home, or a home with older children. For more information contact info@luckybunnyrabbitrescue.com

Hobbs is a very smart girl bunny who needs and loves lots of exercise. She is a great leaper and can jump from the floor onto your lap or the back of the couch. She has the amazing soft fur of a Rex rabbit and loves to have her head, neck and shoulders petted.  Intake #26984  Hobbs is in foster care. For more information about her, contact (951) 897-9378, coliver101@verizon.net.
Lambkins is a spayed, Florida white lop mix, about a year old. She is a gentle soul who likes to act the “toughie” by tossing her toys and rearranging her cage. She likes to be petted on the head and back. Lambkins is interested in other bunnies, so she might like a boy bun companion. She is very good with her litter box.  Intake #39806.
